Great Today, Greater Tomorrow

STANDING Committees

Ambassadors Committee

Our Ambassadors are the face, heart, soul and voice of our chamber. Ambassadors mentor new and existing members.  Ambassadors help their fellow members connect with the people and resources they need to be successful with their chamber involvement. They help new members learn how to access their member benefits. They are the hosts and greeters at all events. They meet the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 AM at ARISE Assembly of God at Brandon.

Diversity and Inclusion Council

This council seeks to unite business and community leaders in inspiring others to embrace the values of diversity and inclusion in building teams, organizations and communities that celebrate the ability of all people to contribute and make a difference. They meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1:00 PM at Lakewood Community Church of God.

Education and Workforce Development Council

This committee will assist in the education and placement of students in career opportunities that are available in the local workforce; they will work to minimize the employment gap between companies and industries needing employees and our public-school students seeking careers in our community; and they will create and facilitate opportunities for employers to communicate with students. They meet the third Monday of every month at Brandon High School.

Government and Economic Affairs Council

This council provides a forum through which the chamber can participate in the development and adoption of policies that best support the economic development and prosperity of the Greater Brandon area. Meetings often include government leaders or representatives; or a topical speaker on a community or legislative issue. The council formulates and recommends the chambers annual legislative agenda to the board, and then presents the ratified agenda to elected officials. They also host an annual Synergy legislative wrap-up and/or forecast meeting; and annual Tallahassee Trek. They meet the fourth Wednesday of every month at 8 AM at the Chamber.

Leadership Brandon Alumni

This group plans and provides leadership support to our Leadership Brandon Program; supports and provides mentorship to the current program participants in planning and hosting Casino Night; and plans and provides leadership support to our Professional Development Series.

Membership Committee

The board of directors created the Membership Committee and empowered it to continually evaluate and enhance our value proposition; and promote a chamber culture of member focus and service excellence. This committee meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10 AM at ARISE Assembly of God at Brandon to review member benefits, retention and recruitment efforts.

Military Affairs Council

The mission of our Military Affairs Council is to support the men and woman of our military, both active and retired, and their families. The council plans and supports our annual Military Appreciation Reception; and MacDill Base Tour. They meet the second Wednesday of each month at 9 AM at the chamber.

Past President's (Chairman's) Council

This council is made up of the men and women who served in our chambers highest volunteer leadership role and are still active. Earlier in our history, this role was referred to as the president. This role is now chairman of the board.  This council meets bi-monthly to offer their experience and insight to the current chairman and our chamber president/CEO. They also elect a representative to serve each year on our chamber board of directors.

Small/Medium Business University (SMBU)

This committee seeks to meet every member wherever they are in their personal and professional development and helps them take steps to their full potential. This committee plans our Small/Medium Business University (SMBU) program.

Young Professionals Council

Our young professional group supports the success of our members who are young professionals 40 and under. This group offers personal development opportunities in a social setting all across the greater Brandon area.
