The Ambassadors serve as the face of the chamber, bringing the heart and soul to the endeavor of building connections that matter, for the chamber and the community at large. The group meets the first Wednesday of the month, and throughout the month they are the friendly faces you see, and the outstretched hands you shake, at ribbon-cuttings and other chamber events, including Coffee Club and Business After Hours. Many Ambassadors say their experiences with the committee helped them become more connected to the Greater Brandon area, whether they've lived here forever or just moved in. The group this year is chaired by Robert Love, Business Pro at Office Depot - Brandon 2705.

The Diversity and Inclusion Council has become one of the chamber's fastest-growing councils, responsible for the annual Culture and Diversity Synergy membership meeting/luncheon and this year's chamber float entry in the Greater Brandon Fourth of July Parade.

The council's aim is to unite business and community leaders who value diversity and inclusion — thus inspiring other leaders to do the same — and to proactively help build a chamber base that best reflects the diversity of the Greater Brandon community.

Council members advise the chamber CEO on policies and procedures that ensure the chamber is a model of diversity and inclusion; develop and advocate the use of community-wide resources to help businesses become the model of diversity and inclusion; facilitate minority business growth and development; and cultivate diversity leadership by providing resources and opportunities for historically underserved populations to connect, learn, and grow.

The council meets the second Tuesday of the month at The Studio at Livy O’s, owned by Leadership Brandon Class of 2018 alumnus Lennise Jackson-Germany and her husband, Omar.

The council this year is chaired by Degrando Franks Jr., lead pastor at Lakewood Community Church of God in Brandon.

The Military Affairs Council meets the second Wednesday of the month at chamber headquarters, focused on matters of concern to veteran and active duty service men and women, and to the families, communities, businesses, and nonprofits that support them. Each year the council fulfills a $1,000 commitment to a military organization, as evidenced by a check delivered at the Military Affairs Reception, which the council hosts on behalf of the chamber, in partnership with the Riverview and South Tampa chambers of commerce.

The Military Affairs Council offers opportunities to interact with MacDill Air Force Base officials through programs including, but not limited to, the Military Affairs Reception.

The council this year is chaired by veteran Paul Senory, of Sencommunications, Inc.

The Government and Economic Affairs Council is the place to go to learn more about the issues, policies, regulations, and laws that affect life at home, at work, and in the community. The council is concerned with everything from Florida 2018 ballot constitutional amendments to education and workforce development to fostering relocation, growth, and retention of desirable industries in the community in partnership with Hillsborough County economic development entities.

Among its duties, council members host the chamber's annual Legislative Update Synergy membership meeting/luncheon. Council members research and draft the annual Legislative Agenda that the chamber board approves and that Leadership Brandon class members present to lawmakers and elected officials on the chamber's overnight Tallahassee Trek, which is open to all members (for a fee) and to current Leadership Brandon class members (as part of their tuition-based, nine-month program).

The council this year is chaired by Chamber Chairman, Jason Pepe, Government Affairs at Hillsborough County School District.

The council meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at chamber headquarters.
